Comme une entreprise de technologie de commerce électronique mondial enablement, Prisync a la chance de travailler avec des entreprises de commerce électronique de toutes les tailles de partout dans le monde, et aussi sur nombreuses globales ou locales plates-formes.
To streamline the Tarification concurrentielle et Tarification dynamique experiences of our users as we promise, we are always looking for ways to further integrate with those platforms, and as a major milestone of that journey, we recently launched Prisync’s Magento extension, applicable for both Magento 1.X and 2.X.
Since the first day after the launch, we got great interest from the Magento community – not just merchants btw. – and received many interesting questions on how we help Magento merchants of all sizes from all around the world to apply Amazon-grade Dynamic Pricing without the same size of manpower and tech muscle of Amazon, instead only with the help of a little software called Prisync. 🙂
These conversations brought us more and more into the Magento community and as we observed it further, we actually got struck by the way the people exchange ideas between each other, embrace and almost own the platform and decided to better understand its root cause and also share it via this blog post on our blog.
We asked a simple question to the Magento community:
Please note that we keep asking this question to new folks every day and this blog post will be dynamic as we pile up more and more answers.
Here go the answers that we gathered so far, in the sequence of the answers we got:
“I started working with Magento because I had to.
The first day on a new job, new project, nobody with technical Magento knowledge in the company… I was tough, I did a lot of mistakes, but learned a lot and at one point things started to make sense. The lack of documentation at that point (mid-2008) was frustrating but was also an opportunity to get involved in a community that was just starting.
So to strictly answer #WhyMagento?
Because it’s a challenge, because it makes sense (to me at least), parce que … community.”
“When I started out with webshop development in 2006 there weren’t a lot of options and any shop dealing with multiple languages, currencies or any complexity was a huge challenge which you pretty much had to figure out yourself for every project.
Switching jobs in 2010 also meant using a new system that seemed to be the new popular choice; Magento. After working with the Magento platform for about 8 years I’ve come to rely on an active and large community supporting me in both technical questions and practical how-to issues. Ceci, for me, is the power of Magento.
Not only a feature-rich platform with an updated tech stack but also the community to back it up.”
“I started with Magento very early back in 2008. It was the revolutionary platform back then that utilized latest software trends. The fact that it was open source and had a free version available was a major reason why it became a platform of choice for many merchants, développeurs, designers, and consultants. Magento was also significantly harder to master than most of the other platforms on the market which allowed us to achieve better hourly rates as fewer people was capable of properly extending the platform for merchants’ needs.”
“Magento wins when it comes to the speed of adapting to new trends.
Look at Progressive Web Apps – at Magento Live UK, the company announced that they are working together with Google on PWA, and now we have first live implementations. It’s even more important for retailers, as using PWA can lead to astonishing business results. This was our inspiration to create Vue Storefront – a Magento compatible PWA for eCommerce.”
“I first started in eCommerce back in 2009 when I set up an online store selling Chinese Lanterns.
We originally built the store on a platform called CubeCart but struggled to scale the store to handle the volume of orders. After a lot of research, I came across Magento which offered much more around extensibility, flexibility, and stability – I exited from the Sky Lantern business back in 2013 and setup Pinpoint, a full-service digital agency specializing in the Magento platform.
The flexibility that Magento offers merchants across the world, along with the powerful community eco-system is unlike any other eCommerce platform I’ve previously worked with!”
“Magento itself is one of the most feature-rich eCommerce platforms on the market today; not only that it’s extremely extensible and has a huge network of partners/extensions/developers that add features to the platform.
The greatest thing about Magento for me is the community – it’s a very welcoming space and is a brilliant support network for any of your Magento needs.”
“I started working with Magento back in 2011, (initially as a merchant) and I guess you could say it was love at first sight.
I fell in love with its’ flexibility and many possibilities right out of the box. Nowadays I work as a developer, and I really enjoy the fact that my job is so versatile. Serving all kinds of different clients, really no day is the same!”
“Because Magento is a robust, flexible, and more secure platform for e-commerce than others.
It is one of the best e-commerce platforms regarding features, prise en charge, and security. You can develop a fully scalable and better e-commerce store by using Magento. Aussi, Magento has a vast number of great extensions, best support, and offers many useful tools for Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, Catalog-Management, etc..
Last but not the least, Magento powered e-commerce stores offer a better experience to everyone, from the developers to the store owners to end users who come to shop at the storefront. Over the years, Magento has evolved its structure into a feature-rich e-commerce solution that comes prepackaged with all the highly essential tools needed to build up an online store.”
“I am working as a Magento extension developer at FME Extensions. For me starting with Magento was by luck. I got a job offer from FME Extensions and they moved me to their Magento development team. During the initial stages I had a lot of trouble in understanding Magento structure, but with the passage of time the complexity level reduced and I was able to solve multiple problems with my own logic and understanding. During the past years, I have been providing invaluable services to our clients through the modules we develop and by providing custom support to our clients. The complexity of projects varied from simple to complex problems which I completed them with the help of my team and Magentostackexchange.
I still don’t consider my self a pro-Magento developer, but I think I can handle large Magento development projects due to my ability to adapt things quickly. After spending more than 2 années, Magento became a natural choice for me – due to its well-organized code base and modularity. When I switched from M1 to M2, I was in total love with Magento’s separation of view and admin, the way it resolved the conflicts within the third party modules throughout the plugins and preference.”
“I guess the best word to answer #WhyMagento is: Plasticity.
Actuellement, we can be just like children in kindergarten, shaping and reshaping our stores as many times as we need. You won’t easily find another platform with this quality.
The ecosystem is the second half of the answer. It’s incredible: the power and the synergy of our community. Since individuals are sharing knowledge or code, companies are also doing the same. Encore une fois, this isn’t the standard. Not at this level.
For these two simple but powerful reasons, I think, Magento is the natural option.”
“When I started my career my first project was a Magento project. Avant cela, I had never heard about Magento. Learning Magento was a bit difficult in the beginning but gradually as time passed it became easier and interesting to learn. It is very popular among merchants and developers as it provides a lot of built-in e-commerce functionalities. It is highly scalable and a robust platform, it allows complex customization. One of the best thing about Magento is a large community support and extensions availability. Aussi, it can be integrated with various third-party applications like ERP systems.”
I started working on Magento since its inception. I have always believed in its power. I have seen Magento evolve from Magento 1.0 to current Magento 2.2.4. Magento Commerce is one of the most powerful tool for any merchant looking to have ecommerce presence. I always say, Magento was a toddler and with recent Magento 2, its now in its teenage. We power solution for Company like Samsung on this. I have seen many like me make a complete career out of Magento. The robust, scalable and dependable are three quick words that comes to my mind with Magento.
I personally think Magento is a great platform that offers almost unrivalled native capabilities and benefits from being hugely extensible. I don’t believe it fits in the SME space anymore due to the overhead of managing a Magento store (or at least as well as it used to), however I see it as being the leader in the complex B2C and B2B market – coming as a result of this extensibility, the integrator partner eco-system and the general agility around developing on the platform. For me, Magento is still the leader in the mid-level retail sector and it’s getting better every day.
